"Lighting Up" the Community

Limestone College Athletes won the NCAA Division II Community Engagement Award of Excellence for their amazing work on the Annual Christmas Luminaries Project. The contest was staged to build momentum for Division II's community engagement initiative and reward institutions for their creativity in advancing relationships within their community. Division II schools were encouraged to submit their best community-engagement promotion from the "ideas of work" section on the Division II community-engagement Web site. Limestone College was one of 21 winners from across the country to receive $500 for a great community engagement idea. Thousands of luminaries are displayed all over campus as well as down College Drive.
