Collin Smith is a 2010 graduate of Limestone College with his BA in music performance with a concentration on jazz. A resident of Forest City, North Carolina, Collin got his first guitar in 2000. After graduating East Rutherford High School in 2003, Collin’s musical education began shortly thereafter in Cowpens under the guidance of “Colonel” Gene Wyatt. He studied with Mr. Wyatt for the next three years, while attending Isothermal Community College.
Collin transferred into Limestone in 2006, performing with the Limestone Jazz Combo and the Limestone Guitar Ensemble regularly until graduation. He has also performed for several Limestone Alumni events and fundraisers, and was featured on the Music Departments first Honors Recital's. In 2008 Collin was awarded the Margeret Poole Littlejohn Award for his academic achievements.
He currently performs with Blues Underground, Melodious Earth Ensemble, and Ol' 74 Jazz Band, in addition to solo performances. In addition to performing he also teachs at Limestone College's Community Music School of Gaffney,SC and some places in NC.
