Bern Nadette Stanis (Thelma of Good Times) to Highlight Cultural Extravaganza at Limestone

Bern Nadette Stanis, perhaps best known as Thelma on the wildly popular television series Good Times, will highlight the Cultural Extravaganza program at Limestone College on Sunday, February 28 in Fullerton Auditorium. The event, which is free and open to the public, will run from 4-6 p.m. It is sponsored by the Cherokee County Branch of the NAACP, Communities in Schools and the Lambda Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.

During her appearance, Stanis will speak about the culture and social consciousness of Good Times and its relevance in the African American community.
Theatre Opens Spring Season with Classic Comedy Tartuffe

The Limestone College Theatre Department will open its Spring 2010 season with a performance of Jean Baptiste Moliére's classic Tartuffe. The production will run February 25-28 (Thursday-Sunday) in the new Limestone Theatre Center at 130 Leadmine Road. Curtain times are 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for seniors over 65 and students with valid identification. Tickets will be available at the door, but reservations made online at will ensure particular seats can be selected. All Limestone students, faculty and staff will be admitted free of charge.

Limestone to Host Exhibit of Graphic Arts

On Monday, February 15th, Limestone College will open an exhibit of recent graphic arts by Rich Ponder in the college's A.J. Eastwood Library Art Gallery. The exhibit will run through March 12th. A reception for the artist will be held in the gallery on Sunday, February 21st from 1-2:30 p.m. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
